QA Engineer
Who are we?
At Luni, we create B2C mobile apps that improve everyday lives, stand out through quality content, and explore new ways to experience products.
As a top ten global app publisher with millions of users, our hits include 🎬 Shorts, ⭐️ Astro Club and 🖨️ Scanner. Most of our revenue comes from in-app subscriptions in the US.
Our culture
We value flexibility, collaboration, and ownership. Team members have the freedom to take initiative, share ideas, and challenge the status quo - all within a culture built on trust, attention to detail, and continuous learning.
About the role
You'll be the first QA hire at Luni, and your mission is clear: build the quality system from scratch. That means defining how we test, when we test, and who is responsible for what.
You design the process, own it, and improve it over time. You'll work closely with the PM and dev team, bridge the gap between specs and implementation, and progressively introduce automation where it makes sense.
What you will do?
Design and execute feature-level test plans before every release, manual testing first, catching bugs before they reach production
Act as the bridge between the PM and developers: make sure specs are understood, flag misalignments early, and write detailed bug tickets when something's off
Define who is responsible for what at each stage of the release flow, and make it a team habit
Own QA independently across iOS, Android, web, and server: each platform has its own constraints, and you'll proactively adapt your approach for each
Progressively build automation coverage for recurring scenarios, using AI-assisted tooling where it makes sense
Level up the quality standards of the dev team through structured feedback and a culture of rigor
Who you are?
QA experience on mobile applications: iOS and/or Android
Ability to write structured, comprehensive test plans from product specs
Technical background sufficient to read architecture diagrams, understand tickets, and have conversations with frontend/backend developers
Proficiency in manual QA methodology and bug reporting
Familiarity with QA tooling (Google Sheets, test management tools)
Soft Skills :
Builder mindset: comfortable and energized by building from zero
Product sensibility: ability to spot things that feel "off" before they become bugs
Rigor and attention to detail
Cross-functional communication: equally fluent with designers, PMs, and developers
This job is NOT for you if:
A fully defined process is needed to get started: there isn't one yet, and building it is the job
Automation is the only interest and manual QA feels beneath the role
No experience with mobile platforms (iOS or Android)
Pushing back on developers or challenging the status quo is uncomfortable
The preference is to wait for clear direction rather than proactively identify problems
Covering multiple platforms with different tooling sounds overwhelming rather than interesting
