About Shorts
Shorts is our vertical drama streaming app, featuring original series across romance, thriller, revenge, comedy and more. We create fast-paced, bite-sized dramas made for mobile, with every episode designed to hook viewers and keep them watching.
What you will do?
Oversee and mentor our team of independent writers, providing creative direction and ensuring consistent quality across all series
Edit and optimize pre-paywall/paywall episodes implementing industry best practices and Shorts broader content strategy, ensuring maximum engagement and conversion potential
Collaborate closely with our production team to ensure our creative vision and brand guidelines are being met across all content
Track emerging trends and competitive landscape, translating insights into actionable creative strategies
Lead your own 0-1 creative development for new series, from initial pitch through production-ready scripts
Establish and maintain our editorial standards and style guide to ensure brand consistency
Appear on production set regularly to oversee creative cohesion with development
Who you are?
Understands the unique storytelling demands of vertical short drama
Knows how to hook viewers instantly and keep them engaged
Can create compelling cliffhangers and structure episodes for maximum retention
Understands how to balance creative storytelling with engagement and monetization
Can help shape the creative identity and storytelling standards of Shorts as a platform
Location
This role is based in Los Angeles, California, where our production studio is located. The person must be available to come to the production site from time to time.
